The Carbon Busters – The Research Institute for Paranormal CO₂ Activity was inaugurated in April 2024. It was established to catch, contain and dispose of CO₂ spectres. In recent years, an increase in supranational C0₂ has been observed. The growth in CO₂ prompted the creation of concentrated CO₂ alliances. Conglomerates are, in particular, formed in areas of intense industrial production. Their paranormal activities turn the once essential carbon dioxide into a toxic substance for the living. How can we capture those invisible spectacles that escape during decay and combustion, are soluble in water, and exhibit paranormal behaviour the closer someone gets to catching and disposing of them?

Once science fiction, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) became real and is one of the main confinement strategies of CO₂ in the deep subsurface. Conceivable storage facilities include partially or fully depleted oil and gas reservoirs or saline aquifers, which can keep up to 85% of CO₂ out of our atmosphere. Yet what if CO₂ finds a way to escape through eventual leakages? Is the deep subsurface an adequate place for captivity? May an increase in CCS even give CO₂ the license to multiply?

Unconventional studies are required to understand CO₂‘s paranormal capabilities. We need to gain knowledge about the psychological, tactile, corporeal, and emotional characteristics of those intangible beings, their reciprocal interaction with life and humans, and their evolutionary cycle.
